I Thought It Was Supposed To Be Spring!

It's been snowing outside all day & I'm sitting here freezing my bootay off! What happened to the nice warm weather?
My husband & I were both supposed to work today but had to call out due to slick roads, I planned on spending my extra time at home cleaning & working out but so far I have sat in front of the computer (procrastination at it's finest).

I'm all caught up on Chicago Fire (yay!) & can't wait till the next episode! For those of you who are fans of the show I have to say that I'm seriously hoping Severide says yes to Shay!
Now it's time to get caught up on Revenge!

It seems like their were a couple things that I thought about throughout the day to blog about & of course I seem to have forgotten them (maybe time to get a notebook?) I suppose if I think of it again I can always write another post.

Now that my hubby has quit hogging the TV (he's a Madden addict) I suppose I will actually go workout now... Zumba here I come!

Zumba, Smoothies & Weight Watchers

So I have been trying doing horribly at trying to lose weight & get healthier, I'M a member of Weight Watchers online, which is an awesome program when I actually do it. Starting today I'M getting serious, I woke up, did some Zumba & then made myself a yummy & nutritious smoothie, I used Muscle Milk in it & that was 5 WW points but since I split the smoothie with my hubby I counted it as 3, I'M gonna try to make smart choices the rest of my day. One of these days (when I get up the courage ) I will post an updated pictures of myself (my profile picture is old), along with my weight. I want to share my journey to getting healthier with you. So anyway, I need to get to work now. Bye Ya'll

High Five For Friday

 photo H54Fbutton-triangle_zps678b65ba.jpg

This is my first time joining in on  High Five for Friday, I've heard it's a lot of fun so I thought I'd try it!
I'm linking up with Lauren from At My Grey Desk. You should too!

1. My business card holder that I made out of duck tape :)  I bought mini business cards from Moo.com (which I love!) but my old business card holder was too big, I just happened to have some duck tape laying around and Ta-Da!

2.   The sunshine! It's still actually pretty cool (ok, cold) here in Tn. but today the sun was shining & it was nice & warm out (it didn't last very long though).

3. My kitty, Dutchess, I love this kitty so much, she is the most snuggliest (is that a word?) kitty I have ever seen.   She's also a good source of entertainment :)

4.  Mini sample of the hazelnut frappuccino from Starbucks (my new favorite, yummo!)

5.  My all time new favorite nail polish, I'm obsessed with teal & this nail polish is just perfect!

Chicago Fire & Other TV Obsessions

For those of you that don't know, we have been without cable for awhile now, it got to be too expensive & we had to cut back somewhere so sadly the cable & internet had to go, the lack of internet only lasted so long before we broke down & got a Verizon Jetpack, it's kind of a nifty little thing but I don't recommend it as your sole source of internet (5GB a month doesn't last very long), now with lack of cable & limited internet it didn't take us long to watch every single DVD we had in our house, & just about the time I started to go crazy without anything new to watch I remembered that my cell phone (which still has unlimited data) has HDMI mirror mode, & that we could watch Netflix on the TV through my phone, we were pretty excited about having new things to watch BUT that didn't fix the problem of missing our TV show obsessions.

Now the biggest obsession in our house right now is Chicago Fire & of course we've missed a bunch of episodes, my cousin Krista (from Chaotic Thoughts with Krista) is also a Chicago Fire addict & she had sent me episode 7 through 10 on dvd, we were so excited that we watched them all in one night & then we were back to being without.

Last night I decided I couldn't stand it anymore & that I had to find a way to watch it, so I started searching & found that I could watch all the episodes on Hulu Plus, so I downloaded Hulu Plus to my phone, hooked it to the tv & watched me some Chicago Fire, I'm super excited to get caught back up, & I know Krista is excited about it too, she's hoping I''ll be caught up before next weeks episode so she'll actually be able to talk to me about it, because being the good cousin she is, has resisted the urge to tell me all about the episodes every week.

I'm also pretty excited to get back to watching Revenge (our other obsession), & a few other shows I love like Smash, & Betty White's Off Their Rockers, & thanks to Netflix we also have gotten into watching Emergency (Yes, the one from the 70's, lol)
I also think I may start watching Nashville, Heros, & 1600 Penn. (I'm sure I'll find more shows too)

The only shows Hulu Plus doesn't have that bums me out is The Big Bang Theory & Duck Dynasty (they really should get those)

Leave a comment & let me know what shows your obsessed with :)

Mexican Shepherds Pie

Ok, I promised you guys a recipe yesterday so here it is...
It's one of my absolute favorite meals,  my mom makes it for me every time I visit home (because mine never taste the same as it does when she makes it)

I don't have exact measurements for this recipe (I know, I'm horrible) but I promise it's super easy.

First you need ground beef (I usually use about a pound or so), brown it in the skillet with taco seasoning.
Spread that out in the bottom of a baking dish (about a 9 x 13 is good)
Open a can of corn & spread that on top of the ground beef.
Now make some mashed potatoes, you can use real potatoes or you can use the flaky kind, whatever you prefer.

Now that your mashed potatoes are made, spread those out on top of the corn.
The final touch is cheese, I prefer lots of it, usually the Mexican blend, put a nice layer on top of the mashed potatoes.

Now stick it in the oven (maybe at 350?) since everything is already cooked you just need it in there long enough to heat up & melt that delicious gooey cheese.

Once your Mexican shepherds pie is all hot & cheesy take it out of the oven & cut into squares.

I usually buy those round hard tortilla shells
& place the piece of shepherds pie on top, add a little hot sauce & you have the best comfort food ever!

I thought for sure I had a picture of the finished dish (cause I always take photos of food) but I don't :/

Hello Again...

I know it's been a looong time, I've gotten on here a few times & started to type out a blog post but then got distracted. I've been a busy girl lately, on top of working my retail job I've also gotten involved in a work from home opportunity called Instant Rewards, so far it's not really going anywhere but I've seen others make decent money from it so for now I will continue to press on. I also got my business license at the beginning of this month so my photography business is now legit :) My goal is that by the end of this year I will be able to quit my job in retail & work from home, I'm also planning on getting my hands into a few other things, one of which is refurbishing furniture & selling it (something I've been wanting to do for awhile now). I need to get my rear end in gear if I want to be a work from home guru, I'll keep you all updated on my progress. Another thing that has happened in our household is that my husband became a volunteer firefighter, he loves it & is studying hard to try & get a job as a paid firefighter, I'm super proud of him!
You would think I would have more to tell you seeing as how it's been so long but theirs not been much going on, I will try to get on here later today & post some yummy recipes & anything else I may think of :)

For now I will leave you with my current song addiction...

Gotta love that truck ;)
